Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is the best time of day for my session?
The best time is usually first thing in the morning or a couple hours before sunset for the most flattering light, however certain locations work better with different times.
-
How long will the session last?
The session typically takes about 1-1.5 hours.
-
Where will we take the pictures?
Together we will talk about the look and feel that you want for your images. All regular family sessions are held outdoors. Whatever your style is, we can find a location that you love.
-
What if it rains?
I will watch the weather closely as your session approaches. If it looks like rain, we’ll reschedule to a day/time as soon as possible.
-
What should we wear?
Consider the patterns and colors: If you choose a pattern, have only one of you wear a pattern at a time. (ex. don’t put everyone in plaid). Avoid teeny-tiny stripes or checkers, since cameras can have a hard time registering them correctly. Consider choosing colors that will compliment your home or decor, and always avoid neon colors, or extremely bright red as they will color cast on your skin.
Coordinate with each other: Coordinating colors always look better than matchy-matchy outfits. Also, make sure your outfits are on the same level of formal/casual.
Add layers and/or accessories: Layering will bring dimension and color to your images, so feel free to add a scarf, vest, statement necklace, etc. -
Is there a travel fee?

-

-
