Newborn Safety

Many may not realize the potential dangers of working with newborns. Newborn babies are sensitive to many different things such as heat and humidity and can startle easily. Newborns are very fragile and cannot support the weight of their own head. Precautions must be taken when working with newborns to prevent circulation and airway problems.

There are no requirements to be a newborn photographer. Training is not mandatory and any person could call themselves a newborn photographer.

When selecting a photographer for a newborn session, it’s important that the newborn’s safety is the number one priority. You should look for experienced photographers that are using safe practices and can take the best care of your baby as possible. I encourage you to please research your prospective photographers thoroughly.
